How to Properly Measure Your Sternal Notch Height
- Have the subject face the wall
- Place the short side of the carpenter’s square gently in the sternal notch (the slight depression between the clavicles) and the long side of the square extending up the wall. (A small section of rubber tubing split and placed over the end of the blade will make this more comfortable.)
- Place a mark on the masking tape under the bottom of the square
- Mark this point “SN”.
