Asiel is a high modulus carbon frame.  We have developed a method through the use of binding, inside a vacuum, to create what was once only considered only a dream: to produce a carbon custom frame in the same way as steel and aluminium custom frames are created. The result is an aesthetical effect similar to a monocoque and a superior resistance to any other gluing method.  Asiel fits every person perfectly, without any restrictions of weight or height. The Asiel can be produced in any size, with traditional or customized inclinations and geometries, or it can also be created by following the instructions given by a biomechanic or provided by the customer. Whereas many other carbon frames are made from monolayer carbon the Asiel is made from 6 layers carbon.  The result is a frame that is fine-tuned for specific strength to withstand pedaling forces, while allowing flexibility for shock absorption to ensure a smooth ride.

Many well known companies in American, Italy, and Germany have many of their frames mass-produced in Asia, where the materials and manufacturing are inexpensive. Typically, the carbon that is purchased for the fabrication of these frames is monolayer (1 layer of carbon).   This type of carbon weighs very little, but cannot compare to higher quality carbon which gives performance through its rigidity. In fact, when a carbon frame weighs little, it is not a sign of quality, instead it may denote monolayer carbon.  In contrast, Formigli’s carbon frames are hand made and hand sanded from a 4-6 layer carbon. This type of carbon used by Formigli is 2-3x more expensive than monolayer carbon.
